Built in 1892, the old gamekeeper’s cottage at Forest Lodge is a hidden gem tucked away in beautiful woodland near Glastonbury in rural Somerset. Surrounded by abundant wildlife and stunning countryside, it’s the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature.
A two bedroom home-from-home retreat, relaxed and family-friendly with plenty to keep everyone entertained in our private woodland along with trampoline, lots of toys and a Wii!
Cozy amenities and fresh eggs from our hens (when laying), coffee pods and wood for the wood burner.
We’re also completely off-grid, generating our own electricity and water via solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and a borehole - though you’d hardly notice!
Lounging
Your private entrance leads into a roomy open-plan lounge and dining area, offering plenty of space for families to unwind together. The standout feature is a cosy fireplace, equipped with a wood burner for that warm and inviting atmosphere. Enjoy the added convenience of complimentary wood to keep the fireside glow alive!

Our kitchen is designed to meet all your culinary needs, including children's tableware.
Featuring a small table and chairs, gas oven, toaster, and refrigerator with a small freezer compartment.

Sleeping
Our spacious master bedroom boasts a luxurious king-size bed that ensures a restful night’s sleep.
The second bedroom is designed for flexibility, featuring two beds of which one is a trundle that accommodates both adults and children, all topped with a premium mattress topper for ultimate comfort.
Plus, we provide plush, fluffy towels to elevate your stay.
Outdoors
A large fenced shared garden has a patio with table, chairs, bench, and parasol solely for your use, plus a BBQ on request. For the kids you'll find a trampoline and swing.
Guests are encouraged to explore all 14 acres of the property. In the woodland, there are ponds (full in winter - spring), rope swings, a slackline, and abundant wildlife.
You may even spot deer!
The property connects directly to both Great Breach Wood and Combe Hill Wood, forming part of the Polden Way and Mendip Ring. Together, these woods cover over 200 acres of diverse forest, with signposted family and nature trails, stunning walks, and breathtaking views.
